I am in a calmer state at the moment and I re-read my writing and realized what a neurotic psycho-bitch I am (like I didn’t know pssshft). But for your (and my) amusement, I will still post my 2-week-old ramblings as a reminder of my neurotic psycho-bitch tendencies. Here goes. After spending two glorious weeks on the Island of the Gods and the Australian Tourist (Bali), I recently returned to the Big Durian. Overall, I discovered two things:

1. I am moody no matter where I set foot — It has nothing to do with Jakarta. Maybe Jakarta has to put up with me as much I have to put up with it.
2. For all its flaws, Jakarta is my home. There were flaws I would just have to accept.

I’m Indonesian, born in Indonesia, raised in Indonesia. However, I was not raised to be submissive to men. Neither was I raised to think that women are the same as men. No, I was raised in an environment where women are women and men are men, with their strengths and weaknesses. I was raised to believe that men and women are born to complete one another, not to dominate over one another, nor to equal one another.

So I’ve been in a serious relationship 3 times and I’m beginning to spot a pattern. Three different times, three different guys, three different situations but basically this is the main rundown:
At first (a time span usually ranging from month number one to four, depending on frequency of sex), a normal conversation is:
- Hey, this song, it’s totally how I feel about you.
